MYŌTH LAB
By LO eli
Located in an old village on an outlying island of Hong Kong, the LAB is Lo Eli’s experimental space: it is a working design and photography studio, as well as the conceptual zone for Myōth. It is also a wood workshop, a compounding room and ever-changing exhibit.
Lo has created an unexpected, otherworldy visual environment against the backdrop of the old village town by adding shou sugi ban wood paneling at the outdoor space, giving the garden greens and florals a stage of their own. The serene interior also lends a clean backdrop to the fascinating and intricate objects that rotate on display.
The space features a DB&LO hand-made workbench with vintage English clamps, a large display piece and desks made entirely from block board and waxed to a beautiful finish, as well as various Chinese antiques with timeless lines and character.
