A charming two-bedroom apartment in a cozy pocket of Kennedy Town, our main goal was to soften the edges. We achieved this by cutting the corner off a sharp kitchen junction and installing a ceiling height French door to the main bedroom. The master includes a hand-built dresser and cabinetry formed and angled to mirror the motion of the tall double doors. With this new dynamic bedroom opening directly to the living, dining and kitchen areas, the apartment gained unity, luminance and spaciousness.
We opened up the space even more by tucking the dining area into a muted palette banquette, millwork inclusive of removable seat cushions for under-bench storage. The dining table is bespoke - a central base in slate blue with a creamy marble top.
Finally, modern furnishings and a series of black and white graphic pieces freshen up the space.
With all the doors comfortably wide open, Hee Wong’s natural flow offers maximum breathing room, opening up into a sanctuary that truly mellows the city’s edge.

“This was our first experience working with Lo Eli and she blew us away with her interpretation of what we wanted and what was already there. We could not have come up with a better stylistic direction ourselves and she managed to find ways to maximize space and do more with less. Also completed the project on time, which was highly appreciated!”
